Street map Giglio Castello, you are currently located in:

Corner of Rome Street, V. Emanuele Street

You are along Via Roma, one of the main arteries of Giglio Castello, where the medieval village shows its most authentic face. The granite walls, the scents of Mediterranean scrub and the voices bouncing through the alleys tell the story of daily life in this timeless place. From here, you can easily reach some of the Castello's most picturesque spots.

Continuing uphill, the road squeezes between arches and stone houses until it leads you toward the Rocca Pisana, the fortress that dominates the village from above and marks the town's most panoramic point. If, instead, you take one of the alleys that open to the right, you will soon find yourself in Piazza Lombi, a small meeting and resting space surrounded by glimpses and passages that tell of the slow life of the Castle. From there, following the signs for the Belvedere, you can climb a little more, between steps and low walls, until you reach the natural terrace overlooking the sea and the archipelago, where the island seems to merge with the horizon.
