Street map Giglio Castello, you are currently located in:
Corner second access to the church
You are standing in front of the second entrance to St. Peter's Church, at a point from which the village opens up to the highest part of Giglio Castello. The narrow streets squeeze between granite houses and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub accompany the climb.
By following the marked path, through stairways and paved alleys, you will reach Piazza Lombi, a small resting place where the stone warms in the sun and you meet the slow rhythms of village life. From here you can continue to the Belvedere, a panoramic terrace that offers an extraordinary view of the Tuscan Archipelago, or continue further up to the Rocca Pisana, the medieval fortress that dominates the village and tells centuries of history.
Every step along this climb is a journey back in time, between glimpses of the sea, ancient walls and the suspended atmosphere that makes the Castle unique.
