Street map Giglio Castello, you are currently located in:

Corner of Rome Street, V. Emanuele Street

You are in the heart of Giglio Castello, at the intersection of Via Roma and Via Vittorio Emanuele, one of the village's most authentic spots. Around you, the granite walls tell centuries of history and the scent of the sea mingles with that of the scrub grasses rising from the southern side of the island. From here, a little journey begins among the most characteristic places in the Castello.

Continuing along Via Vittorio Emanuele, the road climbs gently between stone houses and medieval arches until it opens into a small square: this is where the Church of St. Peter the Apostle stands, the spiritual heart of the village and a point of reference for the inhabitants. Continuing further upward, the path leads you through increasingly narrow alleys until the signs for the Belvedere. Follow them: after a few steps between steps and paved passages, you will reach a terrace overlooking the sea, from which your gaze sweeps over the Tuscan archipelago and the horizon that embraces the island.

If, on the other hand, you wish to discover the older soul of the Castle, continue up Via Vittorio Emanuele following the signs for the Rocca Pisana. You will cross silent alleys and suggestive views until you reach the imposing structure that dominates the village from above. It is from here that you really perceive the privileged position of the Castle, suspended between sky and sea, guardian of timeless views and atmospheres.
