The City Hall ofGiglio Island, built on the site of the former Praetorian Palace, retains its original functions. Built at the end of the 18th century, it has remained substantially unchanged. Its location, near themain access to the castle, along a road axis of medieval origin, makes it an important place of identity and governance for the community.

The Town Hall is still the seat of the municipality of Isola del Giglio and is located on the site of the old praetorian palace, thus taking over its functions. The new palace, designed at the end of the 18th century to replace an existing one, was present in the land register of 1823-35.
Thepresent building, although plastered and partly renovated, has remained substantially the same.
Its location is not coincidental, close to themain access to the castle, along the route that perhaps already formedthe backbone of the internal road system in the Middle Ages.
It is a place of identity and community management.
