The Statutes mention only one square within the castle, as if it were implied that there were no others at the time (Statutes, III, XXI and in IV, XI it is specified "and the square is intended from the house of Biancoletto to the shop of Joanni di Chilino").

The two photos show a stone courtyard in an ancient village, with a well topped by a stone arch and two columns in the center.

It may be the open area still present today to the south of the fortress, albeit on two levels.

However, another open space is definitely in front of the parish church, which may have been present even earlier, but which definitely acquired a new function beginning when Ferdinand III built a well, moreover the only one inside the castle, in monumental form.
