Lombi Square
You are in Piazza dei Lombi, the town's party square. From here you can admire a wide panorama that embraces theisland of Elba, the Tuscan coast and, in the distance, the Gulf of Follonica and Castiglione della Pescaia.
Below the fortress is a view toward the main port area although the port itself is concealed by the steep hills. The view sweeps in the direction of the Tyrrhenian coast and the main route of maritime traffic from Protohistory (between the 12th and 10th centuries B.C.) to the present. In particular, on clear days the coast from Talamone toElba Island can be seen.
