The Rocca Pisana, the highest point of the Giglio Castello, offers a wide panoramic view and is connected to Piazza XVIII Novembre, easily accessible from the Lombi gateway. Together with the church and cistern area, it represents one of the historical and identity centers of the village.
The Rocca Pisana is the highest point of the castle and constitutes a central node in the visitor routes, since from its interior it is possible to have a 360° view of the sea and the Tyrrhenian coast.
The Rocca is connected to an open space, the Piazza XVIII Novembre, which today is on two levels and is well accessible from the Lombi gate, so it is an accessible complex.
Both geographically and culturally, the Rocca constitutes acentral emergence of the castle and a kind of counterbalance to thechurch area with churchyard and cistern.
These two points are also the best-preserved reservoirs of history to date of the castle's various phases of transformation.
